General Information
Lake Mackenzie
is located in
Briscoe County, Texas 12 miles northwest of
Silverton and 27 miles east of Tulia. It is operated by Mackenzie
Municipal Water Authority and was created to furnish water to member cities of
Floydada,
Lockney,
Silverton, and
Tulia. It also provides recreation
activities for the communities of
the surrounding area.
NOTICE !!
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2009
(Unless there is a significant rise in the lake level in the near future), Water
Skiing, Tubing, or person towed by a boat, and Personal Watercraft (Jet Skis,
Seadoos, etc) will be prohibited on Lake Mackenzie until such time that a rise
in the lake level occurs and is sufficient to allow these activities safely.

these?
Effective January 1, 2008 all Off Highway
Vehicles (OHV) visiting the Lake Mackenzie ATV Area will be required to have the
Texas OHV Permit. For information regarding this permit including where and
how to obtain one and FAQ's visit the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Off
Highway Vehicle Program web page.
We have a stock of the 2009 permits
on hand at Mackenzie Bait & Tackle. When you stop by for your Lake
Permit, we will be happy to sell you one of the OHV permits for each of your
OHV's; the price is $10 per OHV permit. The 2009 OHV permit is valid from
September 1, 2008 until August 31, 2009.
