Lake Mackenzie is operated by Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority (MMWA)

   

AS OF APRIL 30, 2009 THE BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED IN BRISCOE AND SWISHER COUNTIES.


 

The following fees are charged for recreational use of Lake Mackenzie.  These fees are set annually and are subject to change.  Upon entering Lake Mackenzie, visitors should purchase a permit at Mackenzie Bait & Tackle (the Main Office if the store is closed) which will list all the fees the visitor is assessed. The following activities/services are assessed a fee:


  • Each person (13 years old or older) entering the recreation area of Lake Mackenzie must get a permit and is charged a daily fee of $3.00 per person (children 12 and under are admitted FREE).  SINCE LAKE MACKENZIE IS A MUNICIPAL LAKE AND NOT A STATE LAKE/PARK, THERE IS NO SENIOR CITIZENS DISCOUNT ON ANY FEE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CRAPPIE HOUSE FEE AS STATED BELOW!  ALSO, STATE PARK PASSES ARE NOT ACCEPTED FOR LAKE ENTRY FEE PAYMENT.


  • Visitors using the Crappie House for fishing will be charged a daily fee of $2.00 (Fisherman 65 or older, 12 or younger, and/or disabled or handicapped  are admitted to the Crappie House FREE).
  • Visitors Camping overnight are charged a $3.00 fee per night per tent.  RVs parked in a primitive camping site will pay the same fee as a tent camper.
  • Visitors launching a boat (including a jet ski, motorboat, canoe, kayak, punts, rowboat, rubber raft, water wagon, or other vessel) will pay a daily fee of $3.00 per boat/craft.
  • Visitors riding an ATV, Dirt Bike, or Mountain Bike in the ATV Area will pay a $3.00 daily fee per vehicle (such vehicles used by children 12 and under are FREE).
  • RV Camping hookups (electricity and water) are available on a per night basis for a $15.00 fee per RV or one week (7 days) special for $75.00 per RV.  It is a good idea to call Mackenzie Bait & Tackle in advance for reservations.  Three (one in the ATV Area) dump stations are provided for the convenience of RV campers.
  • The Large Shelter can be rented by the day for $20.00 or half-day for $10.00.  It is free to civic/church groups of the four member cities (Floydada, Lockney, Silverton, or Tulia) and free to Boy Scout groups in uniform.
  • The following annual permits (good from January 1 to December 31) can be purchased:

            $50.00- Annual Family Pass (immediate family in the household)

            $50.00- Annual Boating (a provided sticker is placed on the boat)

            $50.00- Annual ATV (a provided sticker is placed on the ATV)

            $50.00- Annual (Primitive or Dry) Camping

            $25.00- Annual Crappie House

  •   The MINIMUM penalty for anyone using lake facilities without the appropriate permit is double the normal fee for each activity.

The holder of a Lake Mackenzie Permit accepts the same under the condition that he/she will comply with all Rules and Regulations of the Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority while on the Authority's property.  ALL USE OF RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ON THE AUTHORITY'S PROPERTY SHALL BE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
